VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR RESEARCH STUDY
Are you having a tooth extracted?
Research Study on Scaffold Biomaterial for Dental Implant Treatment
About the Study: Normal healing after tooth extraction results in bone shrinkage, and hence a bone grafting surgery is often needed before the implant can be inserted. This research study explores the feasibility of using an artificial scaffold biomaterial to fill the extraction sockets to prevent bone shrinkage.
You are a possible candidate for this study if you:
- are above 21 years of age, non-smoker
- have a tooth requiring extraction and thereafter,
a need for dental implant restoration
- have no known allergy to biopolymer materials
- are healthy with no serious medical problems
The dental implant fixture and scaffold biomaterial will be provided at no charge to selected candidates. Other treatment fees and implant-supported crown charges, however, will still apply.
