Quality dentistry is achieved through teamwork when all members of the healthcare team contribute their expertise and work together as a team. Besides professional training for dentists, the Center also conducts training programmes for support members of the oral healthcare team: Dental Assisting Training Programme Dental assistants are integral members of the oral healthcare team. They work alongside the dental surgeon, to assist them in the provision of quality oral healthcare for patients. The National Dental Centre of Singapore partners with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to train new dental surgery assistants. Leading to a NITEC Certificate in Dental Assisting, training for the year long course is held at NDC, an approved training centre.

Dental Technician Training Programme

Collaborating with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), the certification programme leading to a NITEC Certificate in Dental Technology has been available at the National Dental Centre since March 2002.

The programme aims to develop skilled technicians adept at fabricating customised prostheses that improve the patients' facial appearance as well as restore his/her oral functions.
