NDC is the main referral centre for specialist oral healthcare services in Singapore, with patient attendances and number of procedures performed totaling over 160,000 and 190, 000 per annum respectively, thus potentially providing a large patient base for research.
As it strives for clinical excellence in oral healthcare delivery, NDC recognizes the importance of research and is committed to becoming an important centre for dental research in Singapore.

We also have strong collaborative links with international research groups such as the International Consortium for the Study of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder and the Asian Lichen Planus Study Group.
The Centre has a Research Resource Unit which performs administrative duties from grant application to data management and statistical processing and liaises closely with third-party research agencies. In addition, the Centre has access to the extensive core research facilities within the SingHealth group of healthcare providers, of which NDC is a member. Being part of the SingHealth group also provides the Centre with opportunities for knowledge-transfer as well as collaboration on projects with medical indications.
